DVFD Auxiliary

Fire Dept NewsThe Danville Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce the addition of the DVFD Auxiliary. This endeavor, a project brought to the table at last night's meeting by Amanda Cregger, seeks to assist the fire department with fund raisers, membership drives and rehab after extended time responses by the department.

The auxiliary will not be involved in active-duty fire service operations.

The first meeting of the Auxiliary is set for Thursday, June 4th 2009 @7pm. If you're interested or know someone that may be interested in participating, please let them know. Everyone is welcome to come out and help get it started!

A big "thank you!" goes out to Amanda for getting the ball rolling on this project. I hope everyone can lend a hand and get this project going.

Note To The Public

SafetySAFETY NOTICE

In the early months of the new millenium, Boone County Emergency 911 along with the Boone County Addressing Department began naming streets, roads, & highways. Along with naming and renaming older roads, every residence in Boone County was issued a 911 Physical Address. Everyone was advised of these 'house numbers' and was asked to place these numbers on the front of their residence so that it would be easier for emergency responders, such as fire, police, and EMS to find your residence during an emergency response.

It has been eight years now and everyday we find more and more houses that do not have the 'house numbers' posted. It is imperative that you place your 'house numbers' outside your house in a visible location so that we can find you if you or your loved should suddenly fall victim to a heart attack or other emergency. This is just another friendly safety reminder from the Danville Volunteer Fire Department.
